Rainbow Lake is in the heart of the Adirondack Park where the unique combination of mountains and lakes has made canoeing one of the most popular forms of recreation. Whether you`re a novice (and just want to "hang out" on the water), or an experienced paddler, there are plenty of opportunities for enjoyment. The geography of the lake lends itself to both short and long paddles around eskers, up flows, around islands, in and out of coves, or to other lake systems. Beaver, otter, loons, ducks, herons, bass, and walleye inhabit the waters. Bald eagles, osprey, king fishers, hawks, and owls are in the skies.
